Following three holiday albums and a Christmas EP, all of which hit the Billboard Top Ten, pop a cappella group Pentatonix presents The Best of Pentatonix Christmas.
Sweetening the pot for fans who may already be well-acquainted with prior releases, the generous 19-track offering includes four previously unreleased songs.
One of them, "Do You Hear What I Hear," features Whitney Houston, whose vocals were taken from a 2004 rendition of the song.
Consenting guests include R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan, who is featured on a soulful premiere version of "Joyful, Joyful," as well as Kelly Clarkson ("Grown-Up Christmas List"), Maren Morris ("When You Believe"), and others from prior releases.
Taking liberties with the Christmas theme, the collection also includes covers of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" and the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows." A collection highlight, the latter makes its debut on the album, as does " You're a Mean One, Mr.
Grinch." Though Pentatonix appeared on the soundtrack to the 2018 film Dr.
Seuss' The Grinch, they were represented there instead by "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," which is also included here.
