Canadian electro-pop band Young Empires blend the quirky, trebly sounds of Passion Pit ("So Cruel") with the radio-friendly, dance-oriented pop of Foster the People ("Uncover Your Eyes") on their long-awaited debut full-length, The Gates, which follows a well-received EP, TV soundtrack appearances, and tour support spots for the likes of Jamiroquai, Sleigh Bells, and Vampire Weekend.
