The debut long-player from the Portland, Oregon/Vancouver, British Columbia-based indie folk outfit fronted by falsetto-happy singer/songwriter and native Californian Colyn Cameron, Private World of Paradise offers up an 11-track set of cleverly constructed songs giving the bucolic folk landscapes of the group's 2013 debut EP, Wild Country, a colorful indie pop makeover.
Produced by enigmatic singer/songwriter Richard Swift, who helped to shape the sound of Foxygen's critically acclaimed 2013 release We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic, The Private World of Paradise strikes a nice balance between evocative and heartfelt modern folk and chamber pop oddity.
