This was m-flo's first remix CD, based on the trio's album Planet Shining and The Tripod EP, and featuring about 50 percent unreleased material (many of these remixes had appeared on their singles).
A number of top remixers from Japan and Europe step up to the plate to take on m-flo's smooth hip-hop and twist it into any numbers of genres.
There's the acid jazz remix by Sunaga T.
Experience of "Deep Within Audiomusica No.
12," keeping a Dorado Records-like vibe going for seven minutes.
Yasuharu Konishi prettifies "Hands" into a mix that incorporates 1950s-style strings, glissandos, and a Debbie Drake workout record.
United Future Organization's mix of "Chronopsychology" goes nowhere, but Towa Tei's "SRATM Mix" brings out the funk with a crazily edited vocal treatment.
When the mixes are at their best, they easily surpass the originals.
