Pop singer and songwriter Johann Holzel achieved international fame as Falco, first with the European hit "Der Kommissar" and later with the global smash "Rock Me Amadeus." An auto accident claimed Falco's life in 1998, but producer Gunther Mende discovered a cache of unreleased recordings by Falco, and The Spirit Never Dies collects these lost performances from the Austrian synth pop icon.
In addition to a re-recording of "Jeanny," Falco's controversial song about a prostitute, this collection features two sequels Falco wrote and recorded to the tune, "Coming Home (Jeanny, Pt.
2: Ein Jahr Danach)" and "The Spirit Never Dies (Jeanny Final).".
