Silverstein deliver a fatalistic concept album on This Is How the Wind Shifts, their sixth album and first without longtime guitarist Neil Boshart.
Essentially two sets of seven songs, the album explores the way little changes can alter events, telling one story in the first half of the album and then altering it in an analogous track in the latter portion, playing out like a post-hardcore retelling of the film Sliding Doors.
The album works both musically and conceptually, offering up a collection of high-energy songs with a narrative that fans will be eager to dive into, and also showing that a little thing like losing a guitarist isn't enough to slow Silverstein down.
