With Trouble at the Henhouse, the Tragically Hip turned in an album that is in the same vein as their previous record, Day for Night.
Trouble at the Henhouse is a set of professional, but rarely exciting, anthemic hard rock that occasionally dips into pedestrian bar-band boogie.
The Hip are at their best when they have a bit of grit in their sound, and for too much of the album they polish all of their rough edges away.
