As a former member of Destiny’s Child, Michelle Williams has no shortage of contemporary R&B credibility, which gives 2008’s UNEXPECTED, her third outing, a notable push.
Williams’s first two albums focused on gospel material, but UNEXPECTED is her first full-length R&B solo effort.
The lead-off single, “We Break the Dawn,” a pulsing, uptempo jam, and the sweeping ballad “The Greatest” are highlights, but the entire release should please fans of Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Destiny’s Child.
