EDM's reigning EP King shifts over to the LP format for a bit and it turns out just fine as Bassnectar's Unlimited is a long and varied journey, and one that never bores.
If "Music Is the Drug" seems like the standard Bassnectar spacy song that's been done before -- and here, is done right again -- then a surprise is around the bend since the vicious "TKO" lives up to its title, grinding like an angry dubstep juggernaut with Rye Rye and Zion I in tow.
"Unlimited Combinations" is pure headphone stuff, and like some of the other Tangerine Dream-ish numbers on the album, allows this DJ to play it slow and low for a change.
The Glitch Mob also appears, while Crywolf gets the remix treatment via Bassnectar's trippy take on his "Rising, Rising.".
