Here the Cool Ruler demonstrates that he was still a viable presence into the '80s.
The mood here is akin to his earlier lovers rock, a slow druggy groove punched up and punctuated by a sterling horn section.
As always, the Roots Radics provide spot-on backing.
Is this a good place to start? Is it as good as his early work? The answer to both questions is clearly no.
But fans of the man won't be disappointed.
There's plenty to like about this record.
