Feuerschwanz are to medieval rock what J.B.O. are to metal: Peter Henrici (of Merlons Lichter) and Tobias Heindl's (of Fiddler's Green) self-proclaimed "medieval folk comedy" group parodies the deeply serious genre with a low-brow sense of humor and lyrics revolving around alcohol and women.
Released in 2012, Walhalligalli, the group's fifth studio album, was produced by Thomas Heimann-Trosien (who has previously worked with several "straight" medieval rock bands such as In Extremo, Schandmaul, and Saltatio Mortis) and turns out to be slightly rockier than their previous efforts while somewhat reducing the more provocative humor.
The album entered the German charts at number 37 -- a definite improvement over 2011's Wunsch ist Wunsch, which only charted at number 95.
