Welcome to JFK finds mixtape maven Chinx -- formerly Chinx Drugz -- at the beginning of a second career in the mainstream, but before the release of this album he was killed in a drive-by shooting.
A tragic loss, and an artistic one as well since the autobiographical "Far Rock" proves the man behind the hardcore series of Cocaine City mixtapes can also deliver a relatable story and show some pathos.
"Yay" is a hook-filled club anthem worth chanting, while "On Your Body" is smooth and silky R&B inspired by the Weeknd.
A well-rounded effort with plenty of promise, the posthumous Welcome to JFK is one bittersweet victory.
