On their sophomore offering, LMS serves up the reggae version of teen pop; while it's not as mindless, it's definitely formulaic.
Zion Gates is filled with youthful vocals, preachy lyrics and an elementary tone meant to guide young people.
The problem is that these pedestrian tunes will probably guide them right to more polished performers, like their older siblings in Morgan Heritage.
Zion Gates does contain a couple of worthwhile songs, such as the smooth riddim of Woo and the catchy Weh Dem Did (with help from Morgan Heritage).
But overall, this album leaves lots of room for more growth by the teen trio.
